Genesis 10 - Sin's Influence

Sin's Influence Today's Scripture: Genesis 10 1Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. 2The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. 3And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. 4And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations. 6And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. 7And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheb

Genesis 8 - God Remembers You

God Remembers You Today's Scripture: Genesis 8 1And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; 2The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; 3And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. 4And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. 5And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the

Genesis 7 - The Open Door

The Open Door Today's Scripture: Genesis 7 1And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. 4For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. 5And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him. 6And Noah was si

Genesis 6 - God Cares

Today's Scripture: Genesis 6 1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imag

Genesis 5 - God Knows You

Today's Scripture: Genesis 5 1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. 3And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: 4And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: 5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. 6And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos: 7And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven y

Genesis 4 - Sins Progression

Today's Scripture: Genesis 4 1And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7If thou does

Genesis 3 - The Beginning of Sin

Today's Scripture: Genesis 3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?1 2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,

Genesis 2 - Creation vs Evolution

Today's Scripture: Genesis 2 1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to

Genesis 1 - A New Beginning

Today's Scripture: Genesis 1 1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. 6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the wate

Jesus is Coming Soon

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 22 and in today's text we see the river of life and the promise of Jesus' return. What stands out to me as we finish the Bible is the quote "behold and surly, I come quickly" meaning that Jesus is coming again soon. Now it has been 2000+ years since He ascended to the Father but 2000 years against the backdrop of eternity is a short or "quick" amount of time. All prophesies are fulfilled and the signs of the time are ever coming close as I believe we will see His return

A Second Wind

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 21 and in today's text we see the new earth is an eternal Earth that God promised Isaiah and the new Jerusalem is where God dwells among His people. In this " the tabernacle of God is with men" we see the New Jerusalem comes down to be with us. Just as God became man in Jesus Christ and lived among us, John gives us a description of this wonderful place, it's joy, and His presence. I am so glad that the Lord gave us this glimpse of the New Heaven and Earth and although

Whosoever

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 20 and in today's text we see the Millennial reign, the destruction of Satan, and the final judgement. In making application my attention is drawn to verse 15 which says that whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This "whosoever" is the same that could have called upon the name of the Lord and be saved but unfortunately they rejected Christ so the "whosoever will" becomes the "whosoever was not". How sad. It reminds me of a

Praise the Lord

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 19 and in today's text we see the marriage supper of the Lamb and the rider on the white horse. A chapter of victory and praise. This praise is a heartfelt response to God by those who love Him. The more you get to know Him an realize what He has done the more you will respond with praise. This praise is also at the heart of true worship. Let your praise of God flow out of your realization of who He is and how much he loves you. How about you? Do you praise Him? Let us

Evil's Destruction

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 18 and in today's text we see the the complete destruction of Babylon which is John's metaphorical name for the evil world power and all it represents. Everything that tries to block God's purposes will come to a violent end, In making application from this text we can strengthen our faith for we have evidence of the defeat of evil. Of course we know the Lord will defeat evil but when we turn on the news we see evil abound. This can cause us to avoid others because it

Trust the Lord not Government

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 17 and in today's text we see the destruction of Babylon mentioned in chapter 16 is described in greater detail. The "Great Whore" called Babylon, represents the early Roman Empire with its may gods and the blood of Christian Martyrs on its hands. It also mentions the seductiveness of this governmental system as it uses immoral means to gain its own pleasure, prosperity, and advantage. This continues in many governments today, but in contrast to the whore, Christ's Brid

The End of Repentance

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 16 and in today's text we see the wrath of God being poured out on the Earth. The end has come. There are many similarities between the vial judgements and the trumpet judgements but there are 3 main differences (1) The vial judgements are complete where the trumpet judgements are partial (2) The trumpet judgements still give unbelievers the opportunity to repent, but the vial do not, and (3) mankind is indirectly affected by several trumpet judgements but directly atta

A Just Wrath

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 15 and in today's text we are introduced to the plague judgments also known as the vial judgments. These vials are like bowls and are filled up with the wrath of God which are to be poured out as the judgment of God is exercised. In making application we see that God's Mercy and Love is long suffering but His wrath is Sure and Just. Some believe that judgment will never come so live in sin and enjoy yourself. The truth is that your sin affects and hurts others so God m

Have Faith

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we Continue in the book of Revelation with Chapter 14 and in today's text we see the Lord giving John a glimpse of eternity to show believers what is waiting for them. The Lord wins the Battle over the enemy described in Chapter 13. In making application we can see over the last few chapters the need to endure through trials and challenges. The Lord is in control and holds victory in His hand. Joy comes in the morning and we just need to hold on through the night and trust in Him by faith. Seeing the recorded future sho
