Lesson 9 — Be Reaching (Sinners)

Texts: Acts 26:9–29; Revelation 12:10–11; 1 Peter 3:15

Principle: Your testimony is a God-given tool in the mission of God.

Precept: Be ready to give an answer with gentleness and respect.

Cohesive Overview:

Paul’s defense before Agrippa models an effective witness: past (who I was), encounter (how Christ met me), commission (what He called me to), and appeal (“King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets?”). Revelation adds that believers “overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Testimony is not the gospel, but it bridges to the gospel.

Evangelism is both lifestyle and proclamation. We love, listen, and serve; then we speak of Jesus—His life, death for our sins, burial, and resurrection; the call to repent and believe. Courage grows as we remember the Spirit empowers witness (Acts 1:8). Not everyone will respond; our part is fidelity, clarity, and charity.

Keys of Submission:

Prayer — pray for open doors and open hearts.

Prepare — rehearse your 3-minute story.

Present — share the gospel plainly.

Persuade — invite response.

Persevere — keep sowing; God gives the increase.

Practice This Week:

Write and practice a simple testimony.

Identify three people; intercede daily and seek a natural moment to share.

Carry a pocket gospel (John or Romans) to give away.

Declaration: “I am a witness; I will testify of Jesus and invite others to Him.”
