My 1 Year Revival 🔥 Lesson 6

Lesson 6 — Be In-Love (God’s Kind of Giving Love)

Texts: 1 Corinthians 13; 1 John 4:7–12; Romans 12:9–21

Principle: God’s love (Me-for-You) contrasts the world’s love (You-for-Me).

Precept: Receive God’s love at the cross; let that love flow in word and deed.

Cohesive Overview:

“God is love.” He showed His love in sending His Son; we love because He first loved us. Revival culture is giving love, not consumer love. 1 Corinthians 13 paints love in verbs: love suffers long, is kind, envies not, vaunts not, is not puffed up, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, rejoices in truth, bears/believes/hopes/endures all things. These are decisions empowered by the Spirit.

This love reshapes relationships—home, church, neighborhood. Romans 12 presses love into real frictions: bless persecutors, associate with the lowly, repay no one evil for evil, overcome evil with good. The measure of our maturity is not how gifted we are but how loving we are. Revival without love is noise.

Keys of Submission:

Reception — soak in the gospel daily.

Removal — put away envy, pride, irritability, tallying wrongs.

Risk — give time, attention, and resources; cross the street.

Reconciliation — pursue peace where there’s fracture.

Rhythm — schedule love; love is lived, not left to chance.

Practice This Week:

Pray 1 Cor. 13, replacing “love” with your name; confess gaps.

Choose one difficult person; do a concrete kindness without announcement.

Write a reconciliation note or begin a peacemaking conversation.

Declaration: “Having received God’s love, I will walk in love and overcome evil with good.”
