My 1 Year Revival 🔥 Lesson 12

Mar 22, 2026    Dave Burnette

Lesson 12) Be Persistent (Pressing) 🏃‍♀️🩹✋ (Press Through Until You Touch Him)

Texts: Luke 8:43–48; Luke 11:5–13; Colossians 4:2

Principle: Faith presses through obstacles until it touches Jesus.

Precept: Pray and act with holy persistence—ask, seek, knock.

Cohesive Overview:

A woman, twelve years hemorrhaging, had spent all and grown worse. Pressed out of options, she pressed into Jesus: “If I may but touch the hem of his garment…” She reached for the tzitzit—the tassels that signified God’s Word—and power flowed. Jesus turned, not to shame but to see and seal: “Daughter, be of good comfort… thy faith hath made thee whole.” Her persistent faith became a public testimony and a private healing. 🌟

Persistence is not nagging heaven; it’s refusing to let unbelief close the case. Jesus taught importunity—midnight knocking, daybreak asking (Lk 11). Persistence shapes us: longing gets clarified, motives purified, and dependence deepened. Often the first obstacle is internal (shame, fear, fatigue); the second is external (crowds, critics, delay). Press through both. Keep asking until the Father answers with Himself—sometimes by changing the circumstance, always by changing us. 🙏

Keys (🗝️):

Target 🎯 — Name specifically what you’re asking.

Touchpoint 🤲 — Connect it to God’s promise (a verse).

Tempo ⏰ — Set daily times to ask/seek/knock.

Tenacity 🪤 — Don’t let delay define the outcome.

Testimony 📜 — Tell it when God answers.

Practice (🛠️):

Choose one burden; attach one verse; pray it daily for 30 days.

Write a one-sentence faith confession; say it morning/noon/night.

Take one bold step that aligns with your prayer (call, apply, forgive).

Declaration (🎯): “I will press until I touch Jesus; His power will meet my persistence.”
