My 1 Year Revival 🔥 Lesson 10
Lesson 10 — Be Worshiping (Jesus First)
Texts: John 12:1–8; Luke 7:36–50; Psalm 95; Romans 12:1–2
Principle: Worship is seeing and showing the worth of Jesus.
Precept: Put Jesus first—pour out costly love and live a Romans 12:1 life.
Cohesive Overview:
Mary of Bethany broke the alabaster flask and poured a year’s wages upon Jesus. Some scolded the extravagance; Jesus called it beautiful. Worship prioritizes Jesus over public opinion and personal cost. It is not confined to a song set; it is a life—a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God (Rom. 12:1).
Worship forms us. As we behold the Lord, we are transformed (2 Cor. 3:18). Praise in the midnight (Acts 16) shakes prisons; thanksgiving reorients souls. Corporate worship gathers God’s people to glorify God and edify one another; private worship trains the heart to adore when no one sees. True worship dethrones idols—money, applause, comfort—and enthrones Christ.
Keys of Submission:
Awe — rehearse who Jesus is and what He’s done.
Allegiance — choose Him first when preferences compete.
Abandon — pour out costly love.
Assembly — don’t forsake gathering.
Action — offer your body as a living sacrifice.
Practice This Week:
Begin each day with a Psalm of praise; end with a hymn.
Identify one “costly” gift of time or treasure to offer Jesus.
Prepare your heart on Saturday for Lord’s Day worship.
Declaration: “Jesus is worthy; I will pour out my worship and live for His glory.”
