Lesson 32: Be Doubtless (Trust) 🤲🔥 (Gideon’s Weakness, God’s Way)

Texts: Judges 6–7; Psalm 56:3; Proverbs 3:5–6

Principle: God reduces our props to reveal His power.

Precept: Trade fear for obedient trust—even when the plan makes no sense.

Gideon threshed wheat in a winepress, hiding from Midian, when the Angel of the LORD called him “mighty man of valor.” Gideon’s responses? Questions, signs, and hesitations. God patiently met him—altar fire, wet/dry fleece, and even a nighttime eavesdrop in the enemy camp where a soldier dreamed of a barley loaf toppling tents. Then came the reduction: 32,000 → 10,000 → 300 armed with trumpets, jars, and torches. Why so small? “Lest Israel boast… saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.” 🎺🫙🔥

Trust is not the absence of trembling; it is obedience while trembling. God’s math is intentional: fewer men, stranger weapons, clearer glory. Doubtless doesn’t mean thoughtless; it means God-first logic. Submit the plan, obey the step, and watch God scatter Midian. As with Gideon, the Lord may confirm your heart with timely encouragements—but the courage comes as you go.

When afraid, say with David, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee” (Ps 56:3). Trust has feet—blow the trumpet, break the jar, lift the torch, and shout His victory. Your weakness showcased God’s strength becomes the testimony that frees others from fear.
