Lesson 10 — Walk in Identity (Knowing Who You Are in Christ)
Opening Question
Who do you believe you are?

• Defined by what others think of me
• Defined by who God says I am

“Father, thank You for saving us and making us Your children.
Help us to see ourselves the way You see us.
Remove the lies of the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Teach us to walk in our identity in Christ.

📖 Romans 8:14-17
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
I. What Does It Mean to Walk in Identity? 👣
Walking in identity means:
👉 Knowing who you are in Christ
👉 Believing what God says about you
👉 Living from your position in Christ
👉 Rejecting the lies of the enemy
Many Christians struggle because they know they are saved, but they do not understand who they have become in Christ.
📖 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
👉 Salvation changes your eternity.
👉 Identity changes your daily walk.
II. What Happened When You Were Saved? ✝️
The moment you trusted Christ:
1. You Became a Child of God
📖 John 1:12
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
You are no longer an outsider.
👉 You are part of God's family.
2. You Were Adopted
📖 Romans 8:15
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
You now have a Heavenly Father.
👉 You belong to Him.
3. You Became a New Creature
📖 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Your past no longer defines you.
👉 Christ defines you.
4. You Were Accepted in Christ
📖 Ephesians 1:6
“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
You do not have to earn God's acceptance.
👉 Christ has already secured it.
III. You Are an Heir of God 👑
One of the greatest truths in Scripture is:
👉 You are an heir of God.
📖 Romans 8:17
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…”
An heir receives an inheritance.
Because you belong to Christ:
👉 Heaven is your home.
👉 Eternal life is your inheritance.
👉 God is your Father.
👉 Christ is your Savior.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”
IV. What Lies Does the Enemy Tell? ⚔️
The enemy constantly attacks your identity.
Lie #1 — You Are Not Good Enough
📖 Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Truth:
👉 Christ loved you before you deserved it.
Lie #2 — Your Past Defines You
📖 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Truth:
👉 Your past is forgiven.
Lie #3 — God Doesn't Want You
📖 John 6:37
“Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
Truth:
👉 God has received you.
Lie #4 — You Are Alone
📖 Hebrews 13:5
“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Truth:
👉 God is with you.
V. The 6 Keys to Walking in Your Identity 🔑👣
1. Priority — Believe What God Says
📖 Romans 3:4
“…let God be true, but every man a liar…”
2. Persistent — Remind Yourself Daily
📖 Joshua 1:8
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth…”
3. Purpose — Live Like God's Child
📖 Ephesians 5:1
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;”
4. Plan — Reject the Enemy's Lies
📖 John 8:44
“…he is a liar, and the father of it.”
5. Place — Stay Close to God
📖 James 4:8
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”
6. Process — Renew Your Mind
📖 Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
👉 Learn what God says.
👉 Believe what God says.
👉 Live what God says.
VI. The Invitation — Who Are You Believing? ❓
👉 Are you believing your past?
👉 Are you believing the world?
👉 Are you believing the enemy?

👉 Will you believe what God says about you?

VII. A Simple Prayer 🙏
“Father, thank You for making me Your child.
Help me to see myself through Your eyes.
Teach me to walk in my identity in Christ and not in the lies of the enemy.
Help me to live as Your child and heir each day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
VIII. Your Walk Is Growing 👣
When you walk in, your identity:
👉 Fear loses its power
👉 The past loses its grip
👉 Confidence in Christ grows
👉 Your relationship with God deepens
👉 You begin living as God's child
