Lesson Scriptures 📖
📖 Matthew 28:19-20

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
📖 1 Corinthians 11:24-25
“…this do in remembrance of me.”
I. What Are the Ordinances? 👣
The ordinances are commands given by Jesus for believers to follow.
They do not save you—
👉 They are acts of obedience after salvation
The two ordinances are:
👉 Baptism — Identification with Christ
👉 Communion — Remembrance of Christ
📖 John 14:15
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
II. Baptism — Identifying with Christ 💧
1. What Is Baptism?
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change.
👉 It shows that you have been saved
📖 Acts 2:41
“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized…”
2. What Does Baptism Picture?
Baptism represents:
👉 The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus
👉 Your new life in Christ
📖 Romans 6:4
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death… even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
3. When Should You Be Baptized?
After salvation—not before
📖 Acts 8:36-37
“…If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.”
4. Why Is Baptism Important?
👉 It is a step of obedience
👉 It is a public testimony
👉 It begins your outward walk
📖 Matthew 3:15
“…thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.”
III. Communion — Remembering Christ 🍞🍷
1. What Is Communion?
Communion is a time to remember what Jesus did for you.
📖 Luke 22:19
“This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.”
2. What Does Communion Represent?
👉 The bread — His body
👉 The cup — His blood
📖 1 Corinthians 11:24-25
“…this do in remembrance of me.”
3. Why Do We Take Communion?
👉 To remember His sacrifice
👉 To reflect on our relationship
👉 To stay spiritually focused
📖 1 Corinthians 11:26
“For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”
4. Examine Your Heart
Communion is a time of reflection
📖 1 Corinthians 11:28
“But let a man examine himself…”
IV. The 6 Keys to Walking in Obedience 🔑
1. Priority — Obey the Lord First
📖 Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God…”
2. Persistent — Continue in Obedience
📖 John 8:31
“If ye continue in my word…”
3. Purpose — Obey Out of Love
📖 John 14:15
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
4. Plan — Remove Disobedience
📖 James 4:17
“…to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
5. Place — Stay Connected to the Church
📖 Acts 2:42
“…in breaking of bread…”
6. Process — Take Action
📖 James 1:22
“But be ye doers of the word…”

Now the question is:
Will you obey Him?
VI. A Simple Prayer 🙏
