“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
I. What Does It Mean to Walk Defensively? 🛡️
Walking defensively means:
👉 Recognizing you are in a spiritual battle
👉 Preparing yourself daily through God's armour
👉 Standing against the attacks of Satan
👉 Protecting your mind, heart, and walk
👉 Living victoriously through Christ
The Christian life is not a playground.
👉 It is a battlefield.

II. Why Must We Walk Defensively? 🤔
1. Because We Have an Enemy

Truth holds everything together.

2. The Breastplate of Righteousness

Righteous living protects your heart.
👉 A compromised life creates openings for attack.
3. The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

The Gospel gives stability.
👉 Stand firmly on the good news of Christ.
4. The Shield of Faith
Be Shielded

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
Faith extinguishes Satan's attacks.
👉 Trust God's promises over your circumstances.
5. The Helmet of Salvation
Be Helmented

“And take the helmet of salvation…”
Salvation protects your mind.
👉 Remember who you are in Christ.
6. The Sword of the Spirit
Be Quoting

“…and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”
The Bible is your offensive and defensive weapon.

Jesus defeated temptation through Scripture.
7. Prayer
Be Prayerful

Prayer connects every piece of armour.
